Here are some of the most frequently asked questions. If you still need any additional info, please do not hesitate to contact us.
I’ve never ridden an eMTB. Are these e-bikes suitable for anyone?
If you know how to ride a bicycle, then YES! You may be surprised how quickly you will adapt to riding an eMTB. We have seen many times how one’s eyes grew wide from astonishment, when they experienced a cycling trip with an eMTB for the first time. It is just like ordinary cycling, with the advantage that you do not need to depend on your physical shape alone and you can make much longer trips without excessive fatigue.
Do you offer only full suspension E-MTBs?
YES indeed! Full suspension bikes in general are the most versatile and offer the highest level of comfort while making it possible to ride on any terrain. The only drawback is the greater weight (not a problem for e-bikes) and higher price/maintenance costs of the bike (which doesn’t apply to you either). Furthermore, you might enjoy it so much, you may soon end up buying one for yourself.
Do you have to pedal?
Indeed, an eMTB is not a motorcycle where the engine does all the work. With an eMTB, you have to pedal, however, the engine helps you move faster and with greater strength, so you can easily overcome long distances and greater altitudes. You can adapt the electric help to your needs and wishes, so you are neither too tired nor too fresh when coming from your day trip.
What is the max speed and range?
It depends on the capacities of your battery pack, total weight, and physical fitness. You get exact information when you reserve an e-MTB tour or rent your e-bike. The general rule is, the more strength the battery has to provide to help you ride a specific distance or altitude, the lesser the range. The speed is usually inherently limited to 25 kilometers per hour, since this is a legal limit for non-motorised vehicles.
Can I carry bags?
Of course you will need some baggage on your trip. However, the kind of bag you will take with you depends on the length of the trip and on the difficulty of the terrain. We recommend you to inquire for specific information for a specific tour with an eMTB.
Can I bring my own eMTB on the tour?
We wouldn’t recommend it. All our tours are all-inclusive, which means that also eMTBs are included in the price. What is more, only with our bikes we can make sure that you will have enough range to complete the tour without draining your battery.
Is it more dangerous to ride an eMTB compared to an analogous bike?
Are tours organized in any weather conditions?
In principle, we cycle even when it is raining (except if there is a forecast of heavy rain), as in the case of a multi-day tour, we ensure the drying of clothes and shoes overnight. If it is established that the safety of participants cannot be guaranteed or there is a possibility of a dissatisfactory experience, the tour is cancelled or postponed.
Where can I ride with an e-bike in Slovenia?
Slovenia is ideal for e-cycling, since it is a country of various landscapes and one can make the most of its beautiful nature by riding an e-bike, as one does not need to depend on their physical condition alone. It is possible to take existing cycling routes, however, you can enhance your experience of Slovenia when you go off the beaten track and take a trip to a place uphill or make a round trip through more than one valley. There are some frequently recommended tourist spots, however, we recommend that you plan a cycling route around these most frequented places and enjoy breathtaking views from above.
What should I be wearing for a day trip? What else do I need to bring?
We recommend cycling trousers and over-trousers, a cycling T-shirt, cycling gloves, comfortable shoes, and a helmet. It is recommended to have an additional sweater, warm tights, a headband, a Windstopper and pair of socks.
What is included in a day trip?
It depends on the type of tour. Please, find information on a particular tour. If you have questions, send us an inquiry.
What should I consider taking on a multi-day tour?
When traveling takes more than one day, we recommend you take with you an additional T-shirt, underpants, shorts, and additional socks, an extra shirt, and personal hygiene items. In principle, we ensure the option of washing and drying your clothes in the accommodation facilities.
How to choose the best tour for me?
Please, check and assess your physical condition carefully and find a fitting description of fitness and technical levels. Please, do not overestimate or underestimate yourself, as your cycling experience will be much more dissatisfactory this way.
Why riding an e-bike if I am fit for a normal bike?
We know this dilemma, as we had it ourselves before we fully dived in e-MTBiking. We answered this question in detail in this blog article.
What is the difference between self-guided and guided tour?
On a guided tour, there is our guide leading the way. In the case of a guided tour, the adventure is much more enriching, since you can enjoy nature and hear the information and details that our guides provide you with. When going on a self-guided tour, a GPS device on your e-bike is leading your way, so you have to pay attention and use your orientation skills.
Is it possible to only rent an eMTB?
Sorry, no. Our philosophy is to provide our guests with one unified adventure as a whole, in which eMTB is included in the price. This type of service is our priority, that’s why we currently do not offer renting as an option. If you need help with finding a good provider, feel free to contact us anyway!
Renting additional gear
For every tour, guests are equipped with mini tools, spare tube and a pump. It is also possible to rent a helmet, backpack, side bags… Check the complete list with prices here.
